We have reported the development of an efficacious radiation therapy (RT) treatment of relatively radio-resistant breast cancer using W18O49 nanospheres and the second near-infrared light irradiation, which were capable of dramatically boosting RT efficiency and overcoming tumor recurrence and metastatic cancers.

Here, nitrogen-doped carbon-decorated tricomponent metal phosphides of FeP4 nanotube@Ni-Co-P nanocage (NC-FNCP) with unique nested hollow architectures are fabricated by a self-sacrifice template strategy. Benefiting from the multi-component synergy, the modification of nitrogen-doped carbon, and the modulation of nested porous hollow morphology, the NC-FNCP exhibits great properties on both the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and the urea oxidation reaction (UOR).

A crack-free thin film consisting of self-assembled CsPbBr3 nanosheets was readily prepared by drop-casting technique at ambient condition. The thin film not only exhibited a high PL QY but also showcased a high sensitivity to X-ray irradiation. A 15-μmthickness scintillation screen demonstrated in perovskite community an unprecedented resolution down 26 μm.

Inversion symmetry broken two dimensional (2D) SnP2S6 with strong nonlinear optical response is introduced for the first time. The SnP2S6 flakes simultaneously exhibit second-order and third-order nonlinear optical response, and second-order susceptibility (χ(2)) is up to 4.06 × 10−9 m·V−1 under 810 nm excitation wavelength. Moreover, the nonlinear optical response of 2D SnP2S6 is highly sensitive to layer number, wavelength, polarization angle, and temperature.

Using the nanoindentation method, we determine the relationship between composition and mechanical properties for the body-centered cubic nanocrystalline (TiZrHf)x(NbTa)1−x high-entropy alloy (HEA) thin films within a wide composition range (x = 0.07–0.90). The unique concave trend of nanohardness results from the cooperation between solid solution strengthening and the aggregation of the oriented grain, i.e., texture.

High entropy metallic glass nanoparticles are synthesized by pulsed laser ablation in liquid. The obtained particles are characterized in detail for their structure, elemental distribution, and surface composition and finally employed as electrocatalysts in oxygen evolution and reduction reactions where they outperform their comparable crystalline counterparts.
