FePt每Au heterostructured nanocrystals (HNCs) have been synthesized by the growth of Au nanoparticles onto FePt nanorods producing tadpole-, dumbbell-, bead- and necklace-like nanostructures. The FePt每Au HNCs show interesting optical, magnetic and catalytic properties.

Highly crystalline and thermally stable nickel silicate nanotubes have been obtained via a facile hydrothermal method. The nickel ions between the layers can be reduced in situ to endow these nanotubes with tunable magnetic properties. The layer structure is favorable for free lithium ion transmission and lithium storage, and the nanotubes exhibit good electroactivity as an anode material for lithium ion batteries.
