A simple and gram-scale strategy for the synthesis of singleatomic-site iron on N-doped carbon with a relatively high load of Fe (2.4 wt.%) has been disclosed. The as-prepared catalyst exhibits superior catalytic activity and selectivity on the hydrogenation of nitroarenes (turnover frequency (TOF) up to 1,727 h−1) at room temperature with a broad substrate scope, in which FeN4 is identified to be the most active site.

Enhanced photo-driven ion pump is realized through silver nanoparticles decorated graphene oxide membranes. Electric potential difference is established associating with competent light absorption and effective separation of photo-excited electrons and holes, which pumps ion against 40-fold concentration gradient under an asymmetric illumination of 100 mW·cm−2 for 30 s.

A general charge transfer mechanism—quasi-stationary charge transfer—caused by physically adsorbed quinone within the ligand layer of CdSe/CdS core/shell quantum dots is confirmed. Different from static and collisional charge transfer, the efficiency of quasistationary charge transfer decreases as the chain length of ligand decreases.

A novel two-dimensional (2D) material—hydrothermal carbonaceous carbon (HTCC) ultrathin nanosheets has been developed from the glucose, which can grow on hematite photoanode. It shows enhanced activity in photoelectrochemical water oxidation, and it shows even better improvement for enhancing Fe2O3 photoanode than that of graphene.

We develop a new spatiotemporal sectioning technique of visualizing spatiotemporal evolution of two-photon fluorescence (TPF) ellipsoids. By recording time-resolved TPF spectra of an ultrathin luminescent medium at each spatial sectioning position along axial direction, TPF ellipsoids are spatiotemporally reconstructed.

α-CsPbI3 NCs with extremely high photoluminescence quantum yield (96%) and substantially improved stability were synthesized using HPbI3 as an alternative of the most popular PbI2 precursor. The utilization of HPbX3 can effectively minimize the halogen vacancy defects, which are detrimental to the emission efficiency and chemical stability of perovskite NCs.
